My best (press) trip:

My highlight has been a bush camping tour through Western Australia. Strolling into the water at the beach of then unknown Coral Bay and coming across manta rays and reef sharks while snorkeling on nearby Ningaloo Reef has been a dream.

My most favourite souvenir:

New acquaintances from all over the world. I am always happy to hear from new and old acquaintances on facebook and take part in their lives in South Africa, Bolivia and Brasil. In this way, the world becomes a home.

Lessons learnt:

One year in Bolivia. It was planned to be a three months stay for learning Spanish. I stayed a whole year to work in a shelter for street children. I have learnt what is really important in life there – family, friendship, solidarity, not taking yourself too seriously and making the best of what you have got.

The Destination of my dreams:

…a round-the-world-trip: from Antarctica via Africa and Asia to North and South America and an entire year to make it.
