It was the most exclusive and most historic 5-star hotel family of London: The legendary Savoy on the Strand, the grand royal Claridge’s and The Connaught in Mayfair, the Berkeley in Knightsbridge and the Lygon Arms in the Cotswolds. We had the great honour to be affiliated with these legends of the hotel world from 1992 to 1998. It was a phase of continuous restoration and careful modernization. “Restored to their former glory” was the ongoing theme during these years. We produced many “before and after” features; A&D magazines were one of our key target groups; again and again we could present new fantastic suites, we introduced new spas and at the same time interest remained high in the unique history and anecdotes of these hotels. When the Savoy Group was taken over by the US investment company Blackstone Group, international PR was unfortunately taken out of the budget.
